Khao Niau was founded in the year 2005 by two Thai friends, Khun Kom from Chaiyaphum, a city in the Isan region and by Khun Nong from Takuapa, located north of Khao Lak. It was one of the first retaurants to open again in Khao Lak after the Tsunami of 2004. Since July 2008 it is being run by Muai Jittra Khampeera (sister of Khun Kom) with the support of Alexander Bolle from Germany. Two kitchen chefs are preparing the different dishes, one is solely responsible for the Isan cuisine and one for the Thai- Seafood. Our guests are Thais, foreign expats and visitors who enjoy the unique style and taste that we have developed for years.

Our restaurant offers besides free WiFi, international newspapers and TV also the relaxed place to enjoy it all: 16 of our seating places are located on a raised platform, where you can sit or lay down on cushions and enjoy your meal on low tables.
